Bio

RJ is a multi-disciplinary artist based in the UK, working across digital media, sculpture and painting. Having previously completed a PhD in contemporary American fiction, his work continues to explore the ways in which we live today, particularly our relationship with the technologies that increasingly shape everyday life. By painting primarily in minimalist browser-based programs and employing various forms of compression, the paintings that form the basis of RJ's looping GIFs seek to engage with the logic of the internet and social media itself—flattened, flashing and fragmented.
